How Long Does It Take PayPal to Transfer to Your Bank Account?

Setting up PayPal for your work at home jobs is smart. It’s an almost universal way to get paid online because most people already use it. It can be easily linked to your bank account for withdrawals and if you’re in the USA, you can opt for a PayPal debit card and take money out of an ATM bank machine. I’ve used it since early 2006 and I’ve learned to predict transactions for most of the time.
If you’re in Canada, when do PayPal Transfers Reach Your Bank Account?
I’ve dealt with PayPal with TD Bank, with Royal Bank, and occasionally with ING Direct. Here has been my experience:
Transfer from PayPal on Monday – Arrival Wednesday
Transfer from PayPal on Tuesday – Arrival Thursday
Transfer from PayPal on Wednesday – Arrives on Friday
Transfer from PayPal on Thursday - Arrives Monday
Transfer from PayPal on Friday – Arrives on Monday
Transfer from PayPal on Saturday – Arrival on Monday
Transfer from PayPal on Sunday – Arrives Tuesday
What are PayPal Transfer Timing Cut Offs:
If I transfer before 5:pm PST (8:pm EST), the funds arrive according to the above schedule. If I transfer later than that, it doesn’t start processing until the following day. An exception is my Payoneer ACH US Virtual Account / Debit Mastercard. I have submitted transactions at 10:30 EST (7:30 PST) and have seen the same 2 day turnaround. I haven’t yet experimented with later transactions.
What Time do the Funds Arrive in your bank account from PayPal?
(These are not guarantees and are based on personal experience only)
TD Bank accounts vary from 5:15 pm to 5:45:pm arrival.
Royal Bank accounts varies from 2:30-3:pm arrival.
Payoneer varies from 5-6am arrival. Update: There seems to have been a change lately and this is now often arriving in the late afternoon instead of first thing in the morning
We haven’t tested timing for ING Direct arrival yet.
What About PayPal Transfers and Holidays:
If you’re in Canada and receive PayPal payments, it’s prudent to know when there are US holidays so you can be prepared for transfer delays. If there’s a US holiday, there will be a one day delay. If there is a Canadian holiday but it’s a regular business day in the US, the funds usually post first thing the following morning (so if you’re accustomed to 5:30 deposit time on Monday and Monday is a holiday, it may be there first thing Tuesday morning). If there’s a US only holiday, I’ll often transfer funds to my Payoneer account so I don’t have to wait the extra day for my funds, if needed.
Mysterious Transfer Delays on PayPal
Sometimes, for whatever reason or another (less than 10% of the time) there’s an extra day involved. If you are waiting on funds always try to leave an extra 24 hours for the funds to arrive .Most times you’ll see that they arrive on schedule but there are some inexplicable delays that occur from time to time.
Bottom line: PayPal usually lists a 3-5 day transfer period but in my experience it is generally within 48 hours except on weekends.

I found this website as I was wondering how long it would take to get the money out of my paypal. I have a TD account, and my transfer request is still “Pending”. It is been 24 hours already. I want to know how and why you can transfer your money to your bank account so fast. I have a verified premium paypal account.

It often takes about 48 hours for PayPal to go to your bank account, unless it’s over the weekend. But, if you transferred it Thursday, it could be in your account as soon as Monday. (I’ve seen transfers to TD around 5:30pm) in Canada.
Hi, Thanks for your reply. Every time I buy something on ebay and use my bank account as a source(via paypal), the money is normally taken out of my bank account after 2 business days, so I naturally assumed I could get the money next Monday. However, the transaction status is still pending. I also read many stories on the net that people are waiting from pending to completed for a week, so I got little nervous. I will let you know when I get it.
If you look later today, (probably this afternoon) you might see that it’s processed on PayPal’s side and if you click through to look at the details on the transaction, it will probably show when it was processed. They’re on California time as well so if you’re looking now, it’s probably not rolled over from last night on their ‘business clock’…if you know what I mean. Good luck.
Hi, Thanks for your help and information. I got my money in my bank account today. (Monday) When I checked out my bank account around 2:00 pm, it was not there. However, when I went to the bank at 6:00 pm, the money was there. To be honest, I am not sure what time the money was received.

My question is the opposite. I need to get money INTO my PayPal account in order for me to make a US purchase in time for Christmas. I bank with Scotia, and was wondering how long it will take to reach PayPal. I transferred the funds on Wednesday 7 Dec.

I, personally, have never done a transfer into paypal but have had clients pay me by e-cheque from the UK and US. UK takes about 2 weeks, typically, but US is usually 3-5 business days. I’ll post this question on Twitter to see if anyone has experience.
